He is the infection that causes other Warframes to grow the cyst - that's how it spreads, an uninfected Warframe runs around with a Nidus or a player with a mature cyst. (May have changed since it came out, I haven't really had a reason to keep up with it) It's a game mechanic that will be utilized soon™, not just a cosmetic.
