Teri Finneman is an assistant professor of journalism at South Dakota State University. She spent more than a dozen years working in the news industry in newspapers and television, including a fellowship at ABC News in Washington, D.C., and serving as a multimedia Capitol correspondent for Forum Communications in North Dakota. .
