The issue appears to be related to using/having a PS4 or PS5 controller plugged in. IMO, I believe this issue of the sound cutting out is the game's audio system crashing without the ability to recover. The ultimate trigger causing it is the exact moment all audio tracks play at once or in some combination. For instance: 1) Game action sounds. 2) Game background music (I believe this is the "Continuous" music.Click on the 7.1 Surround Sound icon in the system tray and click the slider to turn it on or off. Alternatively, open the 7.1 Surround Sound app and click on the "Turn ON" or "Turn OFF" button. Infuriating glitch with ambient audio. In almost every area I go to unless I'm in combat or a cutsene the ambient audio will randomly glitch out very quickly. It sounds like it's playing the sound of loud crowd conversation when you're in a high player density area, but only for a split second.
