Any suggestions are highly appreciated. Overall, IMG odds in Derm aren’t great. You need to review Charting Outcomes for IMGs. The biggest problem here is your research amount. Clinical grades are important if you get almost all Honors (good) or you get almost all Pass (not good). On one hand, demonstrating interest in some regions shows other regions that you didn't prefer them and makes those interviews less likely. I dont know if you figured it out or not but there is a way to show the programs that you have submitted the paper the journal. I just did it. If you pick one of the peer review/ journal " (OTHER THAN PUBLISHED) "option under the publication section. I did a month-long derm rotation(am a EM resident) during Covid and saw a lot of telemedicine and the idea of doing a telemedicine only practice in Derm seems like taking all the worst parts of Derm and doing that all day long.Focus on activities you are truly passionate about (I have been asked more about my experiences than I have my research). If you have a particular interest in the field, start to think about trying to tie in things to reinforce this interest and form a narrative. Also, just try to have fun. 6.It'll play a factor, obviously. You'll be ranked lower than someone with a 265 who is a similar applicant otherwise, and you should be tbh but that's life. There are a lot of other factors and you may still have a good shot depending on the rest of the app. I think a lot of Step2 screens are at 240 so you should be ok!
