I'm an FFL and working a possible trade for a Ruger Blackhawk, 3-screw, unaltered, .44 Mag with a 4-digit serial number made in 1957. There's some wear near the muzzle, and the original owner wrote his name and the date he got it (1958) inside the grip.After this change, the earlier model became known as the Flattop Blackhawk. This was in 1962 at about serial number 42,600.
