(just for rear to start with). I dont want to mess with it until I know I have the right stuff.Just called the Stealership and they want $14.95 per quart of the 80w 90 gear oil + $11.90 for the 4oz bottle of friction modifier. Jan 1, 2018 · The Dana 60 spec is just under 3 quarts. In my personal experience, the Dana 50 will take about 2.5 - 2.75 quarts to fill to the plug. As far as I know, the D50 and D60 use the same case, so they SHOULD have the same capacity. Be warned though, if your inner axle seals are bad, overfilling will make that obvious. Yea personally I would use 80w-90 or 75w-90 unless you just really bang on it hard. The days of 20w-50 for engines and 75w-140 for gears are long gone. Oils are so superior nowadays don't be afraid to use lighter grades if thats whats called for.
