The Chikage is great, like every weapon in Bloodborne. You should keep it in normal mode most of the time, to avoid the health drain. You only transform it when about to attack. Untricked is a waste without a skill investment anyway. R2-R2 on the Chikage (instead of a visceral) with this setup and 50 BT does ~4800 dmg to Orphan (and he has 184 blood resist too). Same as a visceral with a clawmark rune.
