Jul 22, 2010 · Couple things. 1. 1st gen Bilstein 5100s have 3 setting, 0, 1.25, and 2.5. The 2nd gens have 4 settings, I think including the two you mention. 2. OME 881s and Billies are regularly paired up by lots of folks on this site. However.... 3. The 5100s are designed as a leveling shock to be used with the stock coils. Run the bolt through the tool, and through the spindle and adapter, tighten down the bolt and it goes right in, the freezing of the adapters help too. Don't forget the snap ring on top of the adapter. That was the hardest part of the whole install.
Steering is different, the hilux has a gear box and linkages, the tacoma is a steering rack. That leads to the steering knuckles being different, as well as the front calipers and pads. It looks like the caliper mounting brackets are definitely different but the tacoma caliper may fit in the hilux bracket.Dec 2, 2013. #1.
